Jay Bray
Love of my life - Jay Bray
He's sooooo good with my Quila. He doesn't take too many horses these days - just enough to keep his hand in his passion (horses and showing) and we are going to a few shows this year. He has bad arthritis in his back and hips so he won't take more horses than he knows he can give quality time to. But it's amazing what he can teach a horse! - Hibi

I would not hesitate to hire Chris for any show. -marty
I have known Chris for years and have shown under him-- he is very professional- is knowledgeable-- and calls them like he sees them. I have recommended him as a judge and would be happy to show under him- he would place my horses fairly, but he does NOT give favors!! - Karlan

Tony is the ultimate trainer to start young show horses with. As his wife, I have had the lucky opportunity to watch him every day. He has the patience of a saint. He can take a young performance prospect and turn it into whatever it can be best at. His horses all seem to go on to long careers with their owners. I love to watch him work. It's like art in motion. - specialarab@juno.com
Kim Diercks
AQHA

The best trainer I have found so far, after being sc**ed by a few "Arabian Trainers" is a Quarter horse reining trainer. She loves training my arabs even though I show Hunt. She starts them with no fancy apparatuses, she doesn't even use a martingale. I have a filly with her right now that was taken up on Mon. & in 7 days she was on her. She doesn't use any devices, she TRAINS, with patience & calmness. I will be going up after 1 month & begin riding the filly 1 day a week for a month, she uses the other 5 days of training to correct any mistakes I have made, LOL after that for the third month I will go up twice a week to ride. See, she is training my horse for ME. Then I will bring her home & continue light work with one show at the end of the year. She will really come out at the shows as a 4 year old. I lost alot of faith in trainers, but with Kim Diercks I KNOW my horse is safe & happy & will be a pleasure to ride. Don't be afraid to go outside of the Arabian breed to look for trainers. A GOOD trainer is not interested [only] in the breed, they are interested in each individual horse. As a footnote, my 3 year old had never even had a saddle on her so she started from scratch & Kim uses my Arabians to help calm down her QH!!! -akarab

been riding horses all his life. When you get this horse
back it WILL be broke. He will teach them to rope, work
cattle, trail ride, or just about anything else you would
want a horse to do. - wandb93@aol.com
Travis Hansen
Arabian and Half-Arabians

I have met Travis Hansen and he has also shown for me. He as been helpful, curtious, and presented my horse well with a captured chain and no shanking. I thought that was great considering my horse is a stallion and he had not met him before showing him. I was very impressed. - Kristine
Larry Jones
Arabian and Half-Arabians

Okay all...who's your picks for most humane Halter Trainer....Is that an oxymoron? lmao.....Mine is Larry Jones from Jonesbourough Farm.....If you remember National Champion *Kawalkada and the beautiful loose shank job he did of showing her.....He sets a horse up better than many of those "big name" guys.....- afancygirl74
Ray LaCroix
Arabian and Half-Arabians

yeah, Ray is one of the most articulate people around. His discourse on starting halter horses is great! - jillian
Mary Leadly
Arabian and Half-Arabians

I had my yearling Half-Arab shown at The Sweepstakes class at Regions #1, and #2. They were good sized classes at the time, in 1996. I was very impressed with my handler Mary Leadley, who was working for Jim Lowe at the time. I could come to their barn at any time unannounced and I never saw babies being abused, Mary herself told me she would never do to my baby what would probably be required to win her classes, I was very grateful. We used peppermint candies, Mary would have them in her pocket, when she would raise the whip up, she would crinkle the paper, my filly would get the most anticipatory expression and pose her heart out, anything for candy! They were Reserve Champions at both regionals, against all the big So. Cal trainers! I will forever remember the kindness and compassion with which Mary Leadley handled those babies, by the way, this filly went on to win many performance championships as a Junior Horse, as well as her Futurity and later Maturity, she was never scared by her experience as a halter baby, but rather learned to be quite a professional little show horse, traveling and stabling in different states. Today she remains the love of my life! -larhage

Ron McLoughlin
The very best natural horsemanship teacher is in Arizona and he is one of four Monte Forman Certified Instructors. Make no difference what breed or what style of riding you will learn amazing things. His name is Ron McLoughlin. After riding with him you won't need most of what the other trainers can teach you.- Jan (GeorgiaFad)
Rory O'Neil
If I didn't train my own horses, I think I would take them to Rory O'Neil in Santa Rosa, California. I have a couple of good friends-who treasure their horses-who have taken their horses to him and think he's great! I have watched him work with is 'charges' and he is gentle and respectful, yet firm if necessary. He also takes very few horses in a season, so he can spend maximum time with them and get them going on the right track. From what I've seen, he likes to let the horse show himself/herself. - Kristin (anniesmom)
