Tribute to King Hussein of Jordan
"The Peacemaker King" |
|
| Today the world
mourns the passage of King Hussein of Jordan, a leader who worked tirelessly to give the world the priceless gift of Middle East Peace. The giving of priceless gifts from Arab leaders to the West is something many *school children are already aware of; they know Arab Sheykhs and Sultans sometimes gave their prized Arabian horses as gifts to the West in times past. |
Today's world leaders and envoys still travel
to the Middle East searching for something only earned through long and tireless effort; Peace. King Hussein held the keys to Middle East Peace as one of the most universally trusted and admired world leaders. King Hussein gave us a gift treasured by all kindreds, tongues and people around the world. He gave us the Gift of Peace. |

| The Arabian horse's superiority as war mounts during The Crusades made them greatly desired as riding horses by the armies of Europe. Many Royal and private emmisaries traveled to the Middle East in long searches hoping to bring fine Arabian breeding horses home. | Over time, a few outstanding Arabians were acquired by breeders outside the Middle East and helped found famed breeding programs still active today in ***over 54 countries. The Royal Jordanian Stables contain some of these historic purebred Arabian horses today; a breed now equally sought as the mount of world leaders, or the loyal companion of a child. | The children share these Arabian horse drawings
as a gift and tribute to the memory of King Hussein of Jordan, 1936-1999, The Peacemaker King.
