The original American Horse was the Appaloosa, a distinct breed of horse developed by the Nez Perce Tribe in the Pacific Northwest many hundreds of years ago.
Notable for their endurance, temperament, and beautiful coat patterns, the Appaloosa remains a valued partner on the trails and in the performance arena. Inheritance of the DNA for their coat color produces unique patterns with every foal, and each foal is identifiable by its unique arrangement of spots and markings.
